In the Sverdlovsky district of Irkutsk, after December 20 they will begin installing New Year trees. More than 25 live beauties will decorate the districts squares, plazas and yards. Six outdoor New Year events will add to the festive atmosphere, and residents can take part in the contests Our Yard Tree and We Sculpt Winter.
The installation of New Year trees will begin in the Sverdlovsky District after December 20. This was reported by Irina Stekacheva, head of the leisure organization sector of the committee for the administration of the Sverdlovsky District of the Irkutsk city administration. More than 25 New Year trees will decorate the squares and plazas of the Sverdlovsky District. The festive trees will be installed in the square in front of NII IrGTU, in Paris Commune Park, and in the squares of almost all neighborhoods of the district. Most of these trees will be live ones.This year, 6 outdoor New Year celebrations organized with the participation of the Irkutsk administration will take place in the Sverdlovsky District. In addition, activists of territorial public self-government bodies are holding their own celebrations. In some courtyards, residents themselves set up trees, decorate the yard, and organize a cheerful New Year celebration.
“Among the students of schools in the Sverdlovsky District, a contest has already been announced for making a New Year’s ornament,” says Irina Stekacheva. “The winners will receive sweet gifts. All residents of the district are given the opportunity to show their creativity in the annual contests ‘The Tree of Our Yard’ and ‘We Mold Winter.’ The authors of the best works will be awarded gifts on the eve of the New Year”
