Yesterday, a press conference was held dedicated to the program for resettling compatriots from abroad. As the conference participants stated, most families choose the southern and central regions of Russia, rather than Siberia, as their new place of residence. Therefore, the resettlement program is being implemented in the Irkutsk Region not to the extent it should be.It was expected that last year the Angara region would receive more than 200 people. In fact, fewer than 70 arrived. Most came from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Next, in descending order, came people from Moldova, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Georgia. In the Irkutsk Region, compatriots from abroad are currently being settled in only four areas. These are Angarsk, Bratsk, as well as the Shelekhov and Taishet districts. At present, 56 program participants and 16 members of their families are employed.
– To date, engineers, electrical technicians, accountants, installers, gas and electric welders have come to us. This is exactly the list of specialties that is relevant for our region, said Natalya Bruskova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Labor, Science and Higher Education of the Irkutsk Region.
Compatriots who have come from abroad are entitled to a one-time cash allowance — 40,000 rubles for each participant and 15,000 for each family member. In total, nearly three million from the regional budget were allocated this year to support people who arrived in the Angara region under the voluntary resettlement program.
