At the public center of deputy Evgeny Savchenko in Novo-Lenino, the fourth chess and checkers tournament was held, bringing together more than 50 participants of different ages. Teams from the Debut club and the A.A. Lukin children's chess club competed for the titles, and the winners were young chess players from House of Creativity No. 5 and representatives of the Union of Pensioners of Russia in checkers. Organizers note that such meetings have become a good tradition and help unite generations, and this tournament was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The tournament took place at the public center of deputy for electoral district No. 4 Yevgeny Savchenko. More than 50 people came to the tournament. Members of the chess and checkers club “Debut” of the Leninsky District branch of the “Union of Pensioners of Russia” and the children’s chess club named after A.A. Lukin of House of Creativity No. 5 competed for the title of the best.
“We are very pleased that various tournaments are held in our public center, which we opened at the end of last year, and that people of different ages gather here. I have always set myself the task of creating conditions for people to interact and communicate. I am very glad that such an idea has been brought to life in Novo-Lenino. Congratulations to all tournament participants and I wish them further victories!” – said deputy Yevgeny Savchenko.
This year the match was held for the fourth time. It was supported by deputy Yevgeny Savchenko. Such tournaments have already become traditional for the residents of Novo-Lenino. This year’s match lasted more than three hours. The first place in chess went to House of Creativity No. 5, and in checkers the team of the “Union of Pensioners of Russia” branch was recognized as the best. The winners were presented with commemorative souvenirs and cups.
“This year we dedicated the tournament to the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Such events allow older people and the younger generation to exchange opinions and experience.” – noted Ninel Mikhailovna, chairwoman of the Leninsky District branch of the “Union of Pensioners of Russia”.
