Since March 15, the second stage of “Facts About the War” has begun. On the main highways, 40 banners are being installed with information about Irkutsk and the Irkutsk Region during the Great Patriotic War, supported by archival photographs. Archival photographs from the Irkutsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, the A.M. Sibiryakov Museum of the History of Irkutsk, as well as the State Archive of Contemporary History of the Irkutsk Region were used as the main sources for preparing the layouts for the first two stages.
In a month, the third stage will begin. The city’s central streets and the main celebration venues will be decorated not only with banners featuring festive symbols, but also with thematic banners, pole-mounted panel brackets, flag structures, and garlands. Several units of public transport will also be festively decorated. The main semantic element of the symbolism is the official celebration logo – a flying white dove against a sky-blue background.
Layouts in a unified style have also been developed for use by various organizations and enterprises to congratulate city residents. The source files for the design layouts can be downloaded from the websites of the Irkutsk city administration and the Government of the Irkutsk Region.
