In Irkutsk, the spring military draft was discussed. City officials, police, prosecutors, doctors and the enlistment office agreed on joint actions. 440 young men are to be drafted.

On April 1, a joint meeting was held of representatives of the city administration, internal affairs agencies, the prosecutor’s office, the city department of education, healthcare authorities, and the department of the military commissariat for the Leninsky and Sverdlovsky administrative districts of the city of Irkutsk on issues related to the spring conscription for military service.
As reported by Anatoly Mikhailov, head of the department of the military commissariat of the Irkutsk Region for the Leninsky and Sverdlovsky administrative districts of Irkutsk, 440 young men living in the Leninsky and Sverdlovsky districts of Irkutsk will be called up for military service. All citizens born in 1997 who have turned 18 by the day of conscription are subject to military service, as well as citizens born in 1988-1996 whose granted deferments from military service have expired or who were not previously called up for military service for various reasons.
“The task set for the department of the military commissariat is a difficult one, so coordinated work by all structures is necessary from the moment the summons is issued to the sending of the conscript to the regional assembly point,” Anatoly Mikhailov noted. “Conscription for military service is a task of state importance, and all measures must be taken to resolve it positively.”
The police departments were instructed to organize work to locate and notify citizens subject to military service. The lists of conscripts are ready and have been sent to the police departments. Also, at the meeting, the issue of locating and delivering citizens evading military service was resolved.
The spring conscription will last from April 1 to July 15, 2015. As of today, more than 11,000 citizens subject to military service are registered with the military commissariat department.
