In Irkutsk, park gymnastics was held for the first time under the guidance of the well known rehabilitation doctor Vladimir Efremov from Novosibirsk. At a session at school 75 stadium, 50 residents learned his health method for preventing spine, joint, and musculoskeletal diseases. Now these workouts will be held every Saturday, and anyone can join.
For the first time in Irkutsk, on April 18, at the stadium of School No. 75, the well-known rehabilitation physician Vladimir Efremov (Novosibirsk) conducted a park gymnastics session. Fifty residents of Irkutsk took part in it, including acting chairman of the Irkutsk City Duma Alexander Khankhalaev, World Cup winner and medalist, three-time European champion, seven-time national taekwondo champion, Olympic silver medalist in Sydney, Honored Master of Sports Natalya Ivanova, head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Irkutsk administration Sergey Antonov, School No. 75 principal Nelya Prelovskaya, and others. The event was organized by the all-Russian public movement “For the Preservation of the Nation” with the support of Alexander Khankhalaev and the Department of Physical Culture, Sports, and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk administration.
Vladimir Efremov introduced Irkutsk residents to his original wellness gymnastics, aimed at preventing musculoskeletal disorders and improving the body as a whole. He then held a seminar and workshop on the topic “Prevention and Treatment of Spinal Diseases.”
“I professionally deal with spinal pathologies—osteochondrosis, scoliosis, hernias, arthritis, and arthrosis. This is a preventive health system that consists of performing certain physical exercises for five to ten minutes a day. I practiced this system privately at home for several years. And then I decided to bring it to the masses—for public view. Outdoor classes always bring more benefits than workouts in our small apartments or uncomfortable gyms. Besides, by working with a small group of followers, it is possible quite quickly to attract a fairly large number of new people who can, first, enjoy the workouts and, second, make their own lives easier by getting rid of the now familiar pain in the back and joints,” Vladimir Efremov said.
Vladimir Efremov has been conducting gymnastics lessons in different cities across Russia for more than 10 years. Now his exercise technique is available to residents of Irkutsk. It will be conducted by Vladimir Efremov’s students every Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the stadium of School No. 75 (5 Akademicheskaya St.).
