In Irkutsk, the district contest Honored Family of Irkutsk 2015 was held, bringing together large, foster, and young families of the Oktyabrsky district. Participants presented family trees, traditions, performances, and dedicated acts to WWII veterans. Winners will now represent the district in the city stage, and the celebration was remembered for bright performances, fan support, and gifts for all families.

On April 25, the district contest “Honored Family of the City of Irkutsk 2015” was held at the Children’s Cultural Center “Druzhba” of MAOU CO No. 47. The large family celebration was organized by employees of the Department of Education for the Oktyabrsky District and the Committee for the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District of the Irkutsk city administration.
Large families, foster families, and young families of the Oktyabrsky District took part in the contest. Numerous rehearsals, meetings, and consultations with the families before the contest made it bright and unforgettable.
The creative contests were presented in different genres and formats.
In the “Exhibition-Presentation” category, the families presented their family trees and spoke about family traditions and achievements. The “Business Card” introduced the jury to each family member and spoke about the features of the family way of life and life values. In the “Minute of Fame,” the families revealed their creative potential by presenting theatrical performances, choreographic compositions, songs, and poems.
The families’ performances on stage were distinguished by a creative approach, originality, expressiveness, and good preparation. Many contestants dedicated their creative numbers to veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
“The contest united and brought families together; even grandmothers and grandfathers performed on stage,” said Tatyana Dostovalova, head of the leisure organization sector of the Committee for the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District. “The heads of families stood out especially. Fathers gladly performed songs to guitar accompaniment, danced, in a word, showed unprecedented artistry and a desire to be ‘on top.’ And the head of the Yuryev family, Ilya Vadimovich, a participant in the ‘Young Family’ category, even gave a short lesson on preventing road injuries.”
Fans gave the contestants great support. Two classes from School No. 76, led by Principal Nadezhda Markhaeva and Deputy Principal for Educational Work Kristina Burdukovskaya, came to support their classmates with posters, chants, and thunderous applause.
Musical gifts for the contest participants were performances by creative groups of MAOU CO No. 47.
