The third Sunday of June is a date remembered by, if not everyone, then very many people. On this day, the country celebrates Medical Worker’s Day. Everyone wants to live a long, active life, and to do that one must prevent illness from appearing or treat it if it has already appeared. On June 21, all medical workers receive congratulations on their holiday — Medical Worker’s Day — from their colleagues, acquaintances, friends, relatives, and loved ones!
People entrust medical workers with the most precious thing they have — their own health and the health of their loved ones, and this requires doctors to have up-to-date knowledge, great dedication, and the best human qualities. Medical Worker’s Day is a holiday not only for doctors, but also for paramedics, nurses, and junior staff, because no modern device can replace a caring and attentive attitude toward the patient. The nature of this holiday is such that many medical workers will celebrate it at their workplace, treating patients. Medical Worker’s Day was established by the Decree of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of 1980 “On Holidays and Commemorative Days.”
The Minister of Health of the Irkutsk Region, N.G. Kornilov, congratulated his colleagues:
“Each of you has had your own path into this difficult, but interesting profession. And from all the variety that this field of activity offers, each of you has chosen your own. But you are all united in one thing: helping those in need has become the work of your lives.
In healthcare, it is impossible to work according to a strictly defined schedule. To be a medical worker means to be constantly on guard for the health and well-being of those around you.
Complete dedication, the ability to empathize, patience, and the ability to understand the patient’s fears and pain are the main qualities that, together with professional knowledge and skills, define a top-class specialist.
I am grateful to you for your choice, for the fact that despite any difficulties, you remain faithful to medicine and make your invaluable contribution to preserving the health of the residents of the Irkutsk Region and to the development of the regional healthcare system as a whole.
Thank you for your work! Happiness to you, health, grateful patients, and success in all your endeavors!”
