In Kirov Square, activists of Zapovednoye Pribaikalye and students of the English School held an unusual event to draw attention to forest fires. In hand made style they decorated even trash bins, and placed flowers and leaves they had knitted by hand on benches. The organizers hope this initiative will make residents treat trees more carefully and handle campfires in the forest more cautiously.
Today, such an event was held in Kirov Square by activists of the public organization “Reserved Pribaikalye” and students of the “English School.”The purpose of this event is to draw residents’ attention to the problem of forest fires. In an unusual hand-made style, the young people even decorated the trash bins. And they placed flowers and leaves they had knitted by hand on the benches.
As Irkutsk resident Konstantin Plugin says, the campaign is dedicated to caring for trees. You probably noticed that this year we had very smoky conditions, and a great many trees burned. We hope that this will somehow resonate in the hearts of our people, and that they will become more caring. And when they go into the forest, they will be more careful with campfires.
