Today Irkutsk will celebrate Youth Day on Konny Island. From 3 pm to 9.30 pm there will be a color festival, a music marathon with over 30 groups, a dance flash mob and interactive areas for children and adults. The morning will begin with the Olympic Mile along Gagarin Boulevard, and the Irkutsk Arbat with local artisans will also open on the island. Organizers remind, do not swim in the river, do not bring alcohol or glass drinks.

Already today, all of Irkutsk will be painting each other with bright colors, wiping their hands on their neighbors, and dancing all day long!
The celebration will begin at 15:00 and will last until 21:30 on Konny Island. Irkutsk residents will be treated to a musical program by creative groups and a color festival.
All the usual entertainment from the square will also “move” to the island. In the park near the main venue, it will be possible to play various games.
A musical marathon will begin on the stage, which will be located on the island. More than 30 vocal and dance groups will perform in the show.
A dance flash mob will also take place. The entertainment program will be hosted by popular radio presenters — Stas Novikov and Malysh Harry.
Interactive areas for children and adults will be operating nearby. The entire musical show program is divided into 13 blocks of 30 minutes each.
At the end of each block, paint will be launched at the spectators from fire extinguishers and three special towers.
The paints used in this cheerful multicolored show are food-grade. They are safe for people, clothing, and nature.
Starting the celebration with exercise is already a new Irkutsk tradition. If on City Day Irkutsk residents were “energized” with fitness, then on Youth Day they are invited to perk up with a run.
The “Olympic Mile” race, dedicated to the All-Russian Olympic Day, will take place along Gagarin Boulevard. More than 350 Irkutsk residents have already expressed their desire to take part in the nationwide race.
You can register on the website бежимвместе.рф. But even without prior registration, you will be allowed to take part in the race — everyone interested is asked to come to the Komsomoll shopping and entertainment center by 8:30 a.m. to register on site. The race itself will start at 10:00 a.m.
“Yunost” will be handed over to master craftsmen for the duration of the celebration. Starting at 15:00, “Irkutsk Arbat” will begin operating on the island — a well-established fair of local artisans. Usually, talented Irkutsk residents present their creations in Kirov Square, but on the holiday they decided to “move” them closer to the main venue so that guests of the event would not have to “split” between the square and the islands.
The organizers have 3 requests for the guests of the celebration: do not swim in the river, because the beaches in the area of the islands are not equipped for this, do not consume alcohol, and do not bring drinks in glass containers with you.
