Irkutsk will soon host the 6th Russian Chinese Youth Games, from July 11 to 16, bringing together athletes from Russia and China in 12 sports. Admission to all events will be free, and the opening and closing ceremonies will be held on July 12 and 15 at the square by the Trud Sports Palace. The city has prepared seriously for the tournament, sports facilities have been renovated and the new Sunny aquatic sports complex has opened, where swimming and water polo competitions will be held.

Very soon our city will temporarily become the capital of sports. Irkutsk is hosting the VI Russian-Chinese Youth Games.
From July 11 to 16, an Olympiad will take place, in which two countries, Russia and China, will participate. The program includes 12 sports: basketball, volleyball, water polo, judo, freestyle wrestling, Greco-Roman wrestling, archery, table tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, the martial art of wushu (taolu), swimming, and futsal.
As the Minister of Sports of the Irkutsk Region, Pavel Nikitin, stated, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that admission to all competitions for spectators is free. We are not selling tickets. We expect that everyone who wishes will be able to get to the events. By coming to the stadiums during the competitions, you will be able to get a ticket at the entrance and go in. You can calmly watch the competitions in the sport you are interested in. I invite all residents of Irkutsk and the region to the opening and closing of the Russian-Chinese Games. The ceremonies will take place on July 12 and 15 in the square near the Trud Sports Palace at 7:00 p.m.
Irkutsk has been preparing diligently for the Games: sports facilities have been renovated in the city, and the new Sunny water sports complex has been prepared for opening. It will become our legacy after the Games.
- The complex is practically ready for the competitions: the pools are filled, the lanes are stretched, - says Pavel Nikitin. – All that remains is to bring everything to perfection.
Swimming competitions will be held in the new pool. There, for the first time in our city, water polo matches can also be seen. The Trud Stadium, which has been transformed especially for the Games, has become a major venue for the competitions. Fans who want to watch wrestling and futsal should head to Trud. And those who are going to rhythmic gymnastics and table tennis should go straight to the Baikal Arena sports complex.
