Kazakh artist Irina Verkhgradskaya will present her original works.
The master’s collection includes more than a thousand dolls.
All the exhibits are different in style; visitors will see literary characters, fairy-tale heroes, and portraits of celebrities.
As the museum’s press service said, all the dolls are between 10 and 15 cm in size. The accessories and details of the miniature interiors are tiny as well.
- For me, this is no longer a hobby, but rather a goal and the meaning of life. That is why I exist, as it were, in two equal planes – everyday life and real life, and my dolls. I cook soup, and mentally I put together an image, looking for some characteristic details. There are a lot of sheets with sketches; after all, when I was young, I dreamed of becoming a graphic artist, and my hand is “trained.” Sometimes, in order to express some emotion in a character, I spend a lot of paper on sketches, - says the artist.
Irina Verkhgradskaya’s solo exhibitions have been held in Moscow, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Barnaul, Semipalatinsk, Kustanay, and Pavlodar.
