Spanish Ruben Noy Coronado, officially considered a man, became pregnant after sex reassignment surgery and infertility treatment. He is expecting a child from his girlfriend Esperanza Ruiz, who cannot have children. The couple expects twins in September and plans to marry, and Coronado intends to complete the sex change process after giving birth. He emphasizes that he does not want to turn his story into a sensation, only hopes his case will help people be more tolerant of transgender pregnancy.

Last year, the world’s first pregnant man, Thomas Beatie, was all over television screens and newspaper pages for about a month. At the beginning of summer, he gave birth to a girl. This year, he has a strong competitor in the race for fame.
25-year-old Spaniard Ruben Noe Coronado, like Beatie, is only male on paper. Coronado was born female, but underwent sex reassignment surgery. He took hormones and had his breasts removed, but decided to leave his reproductive system untouched: his partner, 43-year-old Esperanza Ruiz, cannot have children, so the couple decided that Ruben would give birth.
So, Ruben underwent treatment for infertility (after all, hormone therapy had played its role) and successfully became pregnant with the help of donor sperm.
If the pregnancy proceeds normally, the babies, and there will be two of them, are due to be born in September. By then, their parents plan to get married, since there are no obstacles to this: officially, Ruben is a man. His future wife Esperanza, incidentally, already has two children, so she has experience in raising them.
As Ruben says, after the birth he will continue all the necessary procedures for sex reassignment, meaning that physiologically he will also become a man.
He also stated that under no circumstances does he intend to challenge Thomas Beatie’s fame or otherwise publicize his pregnancy.
— For the safety of my children, I am not going to sell my story to anyone. The only public statement I am making now is to get people to become more tolerant of transsexual pregnancy, — Coronado said.
Although Ruben does still intend to derive some benefit from his interesting situation in every sense.
— I am willing to sell only my own photos while I am pregnant. In any case, someone else will do it — and make a fortune.
