In Irkutsk, on the site of the former IVVAIU, an educational center, Siberia Heritage, will be created with a cadet corps, an additional education center, and a resource site for training specialists. A capsule for future graduates was laid here in a solemn ceremony, and reconstruction is planned to be completed by next September. The project promises to become a modern center for patriotic education and the revival of military traditions that once began within these walls.

In Irkutsk, an educational center called “The Heritage of Siberia” will be created on the grounds of the former IVVAIU. A capsule was laid in a solemn ceremony for the graduates of the future educational institution.
The event was attended by Acting Governor Sergey Eroshchenko, Presidential Aide Igor Levitin, CEO of the state corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov, and Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov.
Inside the capsule, the project participants addressed the future graduates:
“You have had the good fortune to study in an educational complex created in full compliance with all modern requirements. A well-rounded education and loyalty to the best traditions of the defenders of the Fatherland are the distinguishing qualities of graduates of this educational complex. This is exactly what those who began construction work here several years ago and imagined what this educational complex should be were thinking and dreaming about. We hope that you have preserved and continued the traditions that were developed and strengthened within these walls over many years. When we wrote this message, construction work was just beginning here, and everyone who took part in it worked so that you, brought up on the finest examples of military duty and honor, would become professionals in your field, loving and ready to defend your Motherland!
Work is now underway to clear the site. Reconstruction will be completed by September next year.
Sergey Eroshchenko:
- The implementation of a qualitatively new, modern project for the development of this territory began in the year of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It is very good that young voices will once again be heard here. Army life will begin for the boys. By reviving the military traditions that appeared within these walls almost 100 years ago, we pay tribute to all Russian warriors. The new educational complex will become a modern center for patriotic education. The work of all regional movements, volunteers, and search teams will be concentrated here. It is here that the boys and girls of Irkutsk and the Irkutsk Region will learn to love and cherish their Motherland, to defend it!
According to the regional government, a military-patriotic educational complex with a cadet corps of up to one thousand people will be created here.
In addition, a center for additional education for children with a military-patriotic focus and pre-conscription training, as well as a resource center for training qualified workers and employees for the Armed Forces and civil aviation of the Russian Federation, will be opened.
As Igor Levitin stated, when creating the cadet corps, it is necessary to think not only about the boys who will study here, but also about their future profession; it seems to me that on the basis of the center it is possible to create an educational institution for training specialists for civil aviation, which we do not have beyond the Urals, in Siberia and the Far East. Then the boys would not have to travel to Moscow, St. Petersburg, or Ulyanovsk to study. Igor Levitin said that he is ready to provide support and issue the necessary instructions to consider the issue of organizing this educational institution.
The restoration and reconstruction of the buildings that will house the new educational complex are being carried out with the support of the Rostec corporation.
- Russian cadet corps have, over more than 280 years, raised a large number of worthy sons - military leaders, scientists, diplomats, writers, and poets. There is no need to prove the feasibility of recreating the cadet corps on the site of the former junker school; it is historically correct, since the cadet movement will be revived at this site, - noted Sergey Chemezov, CEO of the state corporation Rostec.
