In Irkutsks Pervomaisky district on Pestel Street, street lighting finally appeared and road repairs began. Irkutsk Duma deputy Vasily Donskikh discussed the districts main problems with residents, bad roads and lack of light, which especially made life hard on the outlying street. At the end of June, 24 light poles were installed here, then road work began, which locals have already praised as high quality and prompt.

Irkutsk City Duma deputy for electoral district No. 26 Vasily Donskikh spoke with local residents.
He said that the key issues are poor roads and the lack of street lighting. Pestelya Street in the Pervomaysky microdistrict is no exception.
According to the street elder Lyudmila Kovalevskaya, in the past it was necessary to walk to the public transport stop with a spare pair of shoes, and children were met from school in the evening.
As Lyudmila Kovalevskaya said, my family has lived here for more than 10 years. Our street is located on the outskirts of the microdistrict. And we live, it would seem, in the city, but in fact we had no urban amenities. Of course, everyone was very happy when they saw the construction equipment. We closely monitored the progress of the work. Everything was done efficiently and quite promptly .
At the end of June, as part of the city program for the development of individual housing construction, 24 light poles were installed, electricity was brought in, and lights were mounted. Also, a few days later, road works began on the same street.
“Part of the Pervomaysky microdistrict belongs to the sector of individual housing construction. Many streets have already been put in order — they have both street lighting and good roads,” Vasily Donskikh explained. “The list of roads that need repair work is being formed, among other things, based on the wishes of residents.”
