Pavel Rostovtsev is still listed as a deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council

The former well-known athlete, who became an official in the Irkutsk Region, has not yet resigned his powers as a deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council.
- In order for him to be relieved of his powers, a certain procedure must take place: he must write a statement withdrawing his powers as a deputy. Accordingly, this statement must be considered at a session of the City Council. Some decision must be made there. The next session is scheduled for September 8. Between sessions, extraordinary sessions may also be held; they are convened if there are issues that are important for the city’s functioning. They are convened at the initiative of the city mayor. That is the procedure, – explained the press service of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Deputies.
The press service of the government of the Irkutsk Region reported that Pavel Rostovtsev has already written a statement relinquishing his powers as a deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council.
As the press service emphasized, Rostovtsev, relying on the fact that he had been hired, wrote a statement on the early termination of his powers as a deputy. At the next session of the Krasnoyarsk City Council, this statement will be considered and, accordingly, his deputy powers will be terminated. This situation is completely normal; there is nothing extraordinary about it. According to the Charter of Krasnoyarsk, a deputy may accept an offer to take a position, but in doing so he, as a deputy, relinquishes his powers. That is all.
However, on July 9, the press service of the Krasnoyarsk City Council of Deputies reported that Pavel Rostovtsev had written a statement relinquishing his powers. At the moment, it has not yet been received by the representative authority.
As sports commentator Dmitry Guberniev said about the new head of the Ministry of Sports of the Irkutsk Region: "I don't know who this is." The well-known TV host commented on the appointment of Pavel Rostovtsev as acting minister of physical culture, sports and youth policy of the Irkutsk Region.
Last year, a conflict occurred between Pavel Rostovtsev and Dmitry Guberniev at Sheremetyevo Airport. This was because Dmitry Guberniev, during sports broadcasts, criticized the actions of the coaching staff of the Russian women's biathlon team.
