The sports complex in Irkutsk has been fully prepared for the 6th Russian Chinese Youth Games. The facade, seats, ceilings, power supply and lighting systems were renovated, and a 1976 mural was restored. Pavel Rostovtsev noted the high quality of the work and said the venue is ready to host competitions. About 20 million rubles in federal cofinancing were also used to buy sports equipment that will remain in the city.

The sports complex in Irkutsk is ready to host the VI Russian-Chinese Youth Games.
Acting Minister of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region Pavel Rostovtsev inspected the sports facility on July 10.
Thus, ahead of the Russian-Chinese Games, the facade of the sports palace was renovated, new seats were installed, the ceilings were updated, the power supply and lighting systems were replaced, the 1976 panel was restored, and a number of other works were carried out.
"I believe that everything has been done quite well, so there is no doubt about the readiness of this and other facilities located in the city. Everything will be fine," Pavel Rostovtsev said.
The head of the sports ministry added that a great deal of work had been done to attract federal co-financing. Significant amounts — about 20 million rubles — were received by the budget of the Irkutsk Region from the federal treasury. These funds were used, in particular, to purchase various sports equipment.
"This money will cover most of the expenses related to the event. Therefore, the equipment will remain here and will be used by our sports organizations," he emphasized.
Also, Pavel Rostovtsev said that as part of the Russian-Chinese Games he would attend competitions in all sports.
The opening ceremony of the Russian-Chinese Games will take place in the square near the Trud Sports Palace on July 12 at 7:00 p.m.
