Irkutsk football club Baikal began the 2015 2016 FNL season with a loss to Tula Arsenal, the match ended 2 1. After a scoreless first half, Tula scored from a penalty and quickly doubled the lead, while Baikal replied with only one goal near the end. Coach Konstantin Dzutsev said the red card seriously affected the game, and the next match is July 16 in Saint Petersburg against Tosno.

On July 11, the Irkutsk football club “Baikal” lost in the opening match of the 2015-2016 Russian Football National League championship. The final score was 2:1, a victory for “Arsenal”.
In this match, the athletes of “Arsenal” managed to outwit the opposing goalkeeper twice. The goals into the “Baikal” team’s net were scored by forward Alexander Kutin and midfielder Vladislav Ryzhkov. Before the break, the score remained unchanged. After the break, the Tula side took the lead by converting a penalty in the 55th minute, and three minutes later doubled their advantage. The Irkutsk footballers pulled one goal back in the 81st minute through Vladimir Kuleshov, but they were unable to save the match.
As Baikal head coach Konstantin Dzutsev commented, they had expected the Arsenal team to have the advantage in play and territory. They tried in training sessions to develop a game plan: countering wing attacks plus the movement of players from the central part of the field into our penalty area. In principle, for some time they managed to contain this. But, unfortunately, the sending-off that happened disrupted the game plan a little.
The Irkutsk team’s next match in the FNL championship will take place in St. Petersburg on July 16. The footballers will face the club Tosno.
