Irkutsk Mayor Dmitry Berdnikov inspected the improvement work in the Pervomaysky neighborhood, viewing four sites and speaking with residents. The focus was sidewalk repair on Vampilov Street, a crossing near School No. 6, grading Fadeev Lane, and yard repair on Mamin-Sibiryak Street. The mayor stressed that all work must be done well and with regard to the Accessible Environment program and residents wishes.

The head of the city paid a visit to the Pervomaisky neighborhood and assessed the progress of the improvement works. The mayor also inspected four sites and met with residents.
The city head inspected the sidewalk along Vampilov Street from building No. 18e to building No. 18a, where it is planned to replace the asphalt surface of the sidewalk by the end of July.
Dmitry Berdnikov noted that it is necessary to equip ramps for people with limited mobility.
"Repairing sidewalks and adjacent areas, arranging convenient driveways and ramps, and graveling streets in the private sector — at first glance, it may seem that these issues are too minor for the mayor’s attention. But for residents they are very important, and that is why the purpose of my visit is to draw attention to the key points that must be taken into account at all such sites. Repairs must be carried out with the Accessible Environment program in mind. The main principle is that everything must be done efficiently, thoughtfully, and taking into account the wishes of residents," said Dmitry Berdnikov.
The mayor of Irkutsk also assessed the progress of the work near the public transport stop "School No. 6". Contractors have begun arranging a pedestrian crossing and installed a traffic light. In the future, it is planned to install a speed bump, apply road markings, and create a lay-by for vehicles.
The third site was Fadeev Lane, where contractors have almost completed grading and graveling the road. In addition, Dmitry Berdnikov inspected the adjacent area on Mamina-Sibiryaka Street, where pothole repairs will be completed as early as next week.
