Irkutsk Baikal lost to Tosno in the second round of the Russian FNL club championship, conceding the only goal from defender Mikhail Mishchenko. Konstantin Dzutsev said the team defended well and looked better in attack than against Arsenal Tula, but it was not enough for points. After two rounds Baikal is 16th, and Tom leads the FNL.

16 July in Saint Petersburg, the Irkutsk footballers of “Baikal” lost in the match of the second round of the Russian championship among FNL clubs.
The athletes of Konstantin Dzutsev were unable to beat the club “Tosno” – 1:0. The first and only goal against “Baikal” was scored by defender Mikhail Mishchenko.
“We understood before the game that the opponent – the ‘Tosno’ team – has a fairly qualified midfield line of attack. We tried to counter it, pack the central part of the field, and, through correct and timely movements, close off dangerous areas. I have no complaints about the team’s defensive play, except for the episode when they scored against us. As for attacking actions, of course, we looked better than in the previous game in Tula,” commented Baikal head coach Konstantin Dzutsev.
At the moment, the Irkutsk footballers are in 16th place in the standings. At the top of the FNL rankings is the team “Tom”.
As a reminder, FC “Baikal” lost in the opening match of the Russian championship among FNL teams. The clash with the club “Arsenal” from Tula ended with a score of 2:1.
