Dmitry Medvedev will come to the Irkutsk region for two days. He will visit Usolye-Sibirskoye, and will also meet with residents of the region at the public reception office of the chairman of the United Russia party. Information about the prime minister’s visit to the region was confirmed by his press secretary, Natalya Timakova. The prime minister will also visit the Novosibirsk and Omsk regions. Elections will also be held in these regions in the fall (for the legislative assembly and governor, respectively), and, as RBC writes, the pro-government candidates there may face the greatest difficulties.
Not only the prime minister, but also the president will visit the “election” regions. According to RBC, on July 26 Vladimir Putin will be in Kaliningrad.
"The head of state will take part in the celebration of Navy Day and in discussions of the maritime doctrine, says a source close to the Kremlin, but it is clear that his visit will support Nikolai Tsukanov, the region’s incumbent leader, who is running in the election and is experiencing certain difficulties," the publication writes.
As a reminder, gubernatorial elections will be held in the Irkutsk region in September. A total of 59 municipal campaigns are scheduled for September.
