According to investigators, on July 14, a friend was visiting the 32-year-old man, and they were drinking alcohol. A conflict broke out during their conversation. The Irkutsk resident inflicted multiple stab wounds on his friend. The suspect also noticed that the victim's mother was sleeping in another room. He dealt with the pensioner in a similar manner. On this fact, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region are investigating a criminal case on the grounds of the offense provided for in Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two persons).
"During a set of operational measures, law enforcement officers established the circumstances of the murder and identified the suspect. A day later, at Ufa station, the alleged perpetrator, who was trying to escape from the police on the Irkutsk–Anapa train, was detained," the press service said.
At present, the previously unconvicted suspect has been placed in custody as a preventive measure. The investigation into the criminal case continues.
