In Irkutsk on July 25, a crash occurred in the morning in the area of the Akademichesky Bridge. The driver of a Mitsubishi Pajero died after colliding with trolleybus No. 7; a little later he passed away. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for Irkutsk.
According to traffic police, the driver of the Mitsubishi Pajero was traveling along the bypass road "Pervomaysky – Universitetsky" toward the Akademichesky Bridge and collided with a trolleybus making a U-turn. Due to the strong impact, the 40-year-old SUV driver was taken to the hospital. He died from the severe injuries he sustained.
"According to preliminary information, the trolleybus passengers were not injured," the press service said.
At present, a comprehensive investigation into the traffic accident is being conducted, and a legal decision will be made based on its results.
