Irkutsk weightlifter Yuri Akhmedyanov won silver at the Russian junior championship in Zelenogradsk. In the over 105 kilogram class he lifted 150 kg in the snatch and 192 kg in the clean and jerk. Now he will represent Irkutsk Region at the European championship in Lithuania this autumn.
Irkutsk athlete Yuri Akhmedyanov won silver at the national junior weightlifting championship. The tournament was held in the city of Zelenogradsk.About 200 athletes from 40 regions of Russia took part in the competition. The Irkutsk Region was represented by three athletes at these competitions.
Yuri Akhmedyanov took second place in the over-105-kilogram weight class. His result: snatch - 150 kg, clean and jerk - 192 kg.
According to the Irkutsk Region Ministry of Sports, the Irkutsk weightlifter will now take part in the European Championship. The tournament will be held in the fall in Lithuania.
