In Irkutsk, Visit Irkutsk was launched, a 24 hour online guide for Russian and foreign tourists with information on lodging, sights, routes and trip costs. The project is available in Russian and English, and in a mobile version, and is regularly updated with new materials. The creators hope to make the site a convenient starting point for those planning a trip to Irkutsk and Lake Baikal.
A new Visit Irkutsk project has been launched in Irkutsk – a round-the-clock guide for Russian and foreign tourists. The website contains information on where to stay, what to see, how to get to the main attractions, and how much it will cost. This project is presented in Russian and English. This was reported by the creators of Visit Irkutsk. The goal of the project is to present useful information to tourists on one website: in a substantive and easy-to-read format.
"Irkutsk has excellent niche projects for local residents about the city and events. There are interesting websites about Baikal, and there are long-standing forums. But all of these are separate stories. Tourists have to gather information bit by bit. Moreover, it is not always systematized and up to date," noted Vladislav Danilov, head of Visit Irkutsk.
The information on the website www.visit-irkutsk.ru is presented in five sections: "Discover Irkutsk," "Things to Do," "Baikal," "Where to Stay," and "For the Traveler." Similar information is also available on the English-language version, www.visit-irkutsk.com. There is also a mobile version of the site.
"Irkutsk is a wonderful city that tourists should definitely visit. And we know how many people dream of being at Baikal. Our task is to help them prepare for the trip and at the same time take care of those who are already here," the project creators are confident.
The information is constantly updated, taking into account the requests of tourists from Russia and other countries. Everyone interested can take part in the development of the website. The site team welcomes questions and feedback and is open to new ideas and proposals for cooperation.
"At the moment, our norm is two new materials a week. Eight people are involved in working on the project. We are constantly looking for opportunities to place as much information as possible on our resource. Gradually, we plan to move to daily updates of the site," Vladislav Danilov emphasized.
He also added that even at the start of the project, a promotion scheme was developed to increase the site's traffic. At present, the creators of Visit Irkutsk are doing everything possible to make residents of Irkutsk and tourists aware of this resource.
