Olga Buzova spoke about the busy Dom 2 tour in Irkutsk region, a trip to Baikal, impressions of omul, and how she balances work, filming, and self care. In an interview she shared views on the project, relations with participants, dealing with negativity, and TV plans, and said she dreams of a family.

The touring schedule of "Dom-2" in the Irkutsk region turned out to be very tight: on April 19, a concert in Angarsk, on the morning of the 20th - a trip to Lake Baikal, and in the evening a concert for the Irkutsk audience.
With such a tight schedule, it is hard to find time for an interview. We managed to have a brief conversation with Olga Buzova, a former participant and current host, in one of the city’s beauty salons, where the participants were being made beautiful before the concert.

With such a tight schedule, it is hard to find time for an interview. We managed to have a brief conversation with Olga Buzova, a former participant and current host of the reality show Dom-2 on TNT, in one of the city’s beauty salons, where the participants were being made beautiful before the concert.
Olga turned out to be sweet, smiling, and very beautiful. Despite her fatigue, she readily answered a few questions.
Corr.:How was yesterday’s concert in Angarsk?
O. B.:Great, a full house!
Corr.:When did the idea of going on tour first come up?
O. B.:Back in the first year of the project. Sun (note: Sun - a former participant) came up with the "Dom-2" anthem "15 Cool Ones," people wanted to listen to us, and the process began. The first time we performed was in December 2004.
Corr.:Do you like touring life?
O. B.:I really liked touring with the old lineup. Now everything is a little different.
Corr.:What did you imagine Baikal to be like? What was it really like?
O. B.:I’m an ecologist by education, so I knew quite a lot about Baikal. It’s a pity they only took us to the place where the Angara flows out of Baikal and showed us the Shaman Rock.
Corr.:Did you get to try omul?
O. B.:Very tasty fish! I bought a whole pile of it—cold-smoked, hot-smoked, and dried. Now the whole hotel room smells of it. I don’t know who’s going to eat all this wealth, since I live alone. I’m already dreaming of settling down in front of the TV tonight with this fish. I might even allow myself a bottle of beer.
Corr.:What about diets and a healthy lifestyle?
O. B.:I lead a healthy lifestyle and take good care of myself, but for omul I’ll allow myself to relax a little. In general, I practically don’t drink, at most a glass or two of wine in a restaurant. I quit smoking on January 9... What year was it???? Well, if I don’t remember the year, then I’ve completely gotten rid of that addiction. At first it was hard. My birthday is on January 20, and I was afraid I’d break down exactly on that day, I scolded myself for quitting without waiting for the holiday. But I held out—I didn’t smoke. I’m very proud of myself. I remembered that this year marked two years, which means I quit smoking in 2007.
Corr.:And what about the other participants? After all, Dom-2 on TNT has now started a fight against smoking. Did everyone really quit at once?
O. B.:Everyone on the project is an adult, and we can’t force them to do anything (I’m speaking on behalf of the project management). But smoking is strictly forbidden in front of the cameras.
Corr.:Are there any special difficulties in building relationships on the project? Or is it all like in real life?
O. B.:Of course there are. The main one is the limited choice. You have to build relationships with whoever is there. In real life, I probably wouldn’t have paid attention to Roma (note: Olga’s former boyfriend). But there... "I made him out of what was there." Then, of course, disappointment set in.
Corr.:How are things in your personal life now?
O. B.:I don’t answer such questions. I lived in public for 5 years, I’m very tired.
Corr.:The project is very scandalous, and there are many media reports about you, not always flattering. How do you deal with the negativity?
O. B.:I try not to let negativity into my soul. Although sometimes I do get upset and cry. But in such moments I remember that there are people who love me. For example, today, when we came to the editorial office of Komsomolskaya Pravda, a woman came up to me, gave me a book about Irkutsk in English, and said she loved me like a daughter. It was very nice. When I feel some negativity, I remember such people. I forget what they looked like, what their names are, but the feeling of warmth remains. Mostly I communicate on Odnoklassniki. There are only positive reviews there. I registered a couple of weeks ago. It turned out that there are many of my clones on the site, answering for me, and I felt hurt. I asked the management to remove my doubles, and now I communicate myself. In general, Odnoklassniki is a refuge for many participants. They sit there for hours, and sometimes we even argue about it.
Corr.:Olya, we are very worried about Tori. There is a lot of contradictory information. (note: Tori - one of the reality show participants)
O. B.:Her condition is serious, but stable. I think she is already recovering. For now, no one is allowed to see her, only her husband and mother. We communicate with her by SMS, she sends me smileys.
Corr.:Will she return to the project after her illness?
O. B.:Of course. She is a person very devoted to the project. I say that I will never leave Dom-2, I’ll be here until the very end. She is exactly the same. As soon as she recovers, she will definitely return. Dom-2 is even more than a home for her. It’s everything to her.
Corr.:How is Stepan doing now? He’s not with you today?
O. B.:Stepa is a great guy. After leaving the project, he didn’t go off the rails, but started working very hard. He’s making the most of his recognition, touring, and bringing us into his concerts.
Corr.:He broke up with Sasha Kharitonova right after leaving. Is he alone now?
O. B.:He lives in a civil marriage with Ksyusha. (note: Ksyusha - one of Stepan’s former girlfriends on the project). I’m very happy for him. Ksyusha is the ideal woman for him, one who will always wait for him and accept him as he is. I think things will work out for Stepan with her.
Corr.:Is Ksenia Borodina not planning to leave the project after having a child?
O. B.:No, a month or two after giving birth she will return to work. You will definitely see her, I even think she’ll show the baby too. Because this is such happiness, it’s impossible not to share it.
Corr.:One of the most controversial figures on the project is Rustam. What is your relationship with him?
O. B.:The relationship is normal. He is not my friend; you can expect a trick from him at any moment, but to be offended by that...
Corr.:Do you trust anyone on the project?
O. B.:No one, I have no friends on the project. I trust only myself.
Corr.:Do you connect your future career with television?
O. B.:Yes, definitely. I really love cameras. I think I’ll succeed. I’m working on myself, working on my speech, maybe some progress is already noticeable. On screen I’m becoming more and more confident. As our producer Alexey Nikolayevich says, "the bone has started to grow flesh." I really love cameras.
Corr.:What exactly do you imagine your work on television to be?
O. B.:I’m not picky in that regard, anything suits me: hosting programs, acting in films, taking part in some reality shows, "The Last Hero," for example. The main thing is that I keep developing. I don’t want to stand still.
Corr.:How is the "Dom-2" magazine doing? Are you managing the role of editor-in-chief?
O. B.:I became editor in December last year. My first issue came out with Natalya Varvina on the cover. Everyone is satisfied with my work, including me. I devote a lot of time to editorial work, we have a very good women’s team. If you’re interested in the financial aspect, I don’t work there for money, I receive practically nothing in material terms. But experience is very important to me.
Corr.:What are the difficulties of editorial work?
O. B.:It’s not difficult for me. The only difficulty, perhaps, is guessing what will remain relevant for some time. After all, we lay out the magazine a month in advance. A lot can happen in that time. You have to come up with a topic that will be interesting at the moment the magazine comes out.
Corr.:Are there many journalists on the magazine staff?
O. B.:There are two permanent ones, they come to the set. But many of the guys write themselves too, we give them the opportunity both to realize themselves and to earn some extra money.
Corr.:Olya, you are always dressed very stylishly.
O. B.:I’m very pleased to hear that I’m dressed stylishly. Many people don’t like the way I dress. I can say that I trust only my own taste, I never follow fashion. If I’m going somewhere, I always wear stilettos. I feel very comfortable in such shoes. Of course, I love shops, I love clothes, shoes, handbags.
Corr.:So you’re a shopaholic?
O. B.:I’m still a thrifty shopaholic. I’m more drawn to travel and self-education.
Corr.:And does Olga Buzova have a dream?
O. B.:Yes, of course. I want to create a family. I want to be behind my husband, behind a broad back. A man is a diamond, and I agree to be his setting; that is a woman’s purpose.
