Residents of the Angara region can now call emergency services with one button through the Mobile Rescuer app. It sends SOS, automatically locates the user, sends SMS to loved ones, and helps find nearby fire stations, police, medical facilities, and first aid tips.
Residents of the Angara region now have the opportunity to call emergency services with a single button through the “Mobile Rescuer” app. The new product was developed for people who have found themselves in an emergency situation or witnessed an incident. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Irkutsk Region. The app is a page on which a large area is occupied by a red “button” - “Send SOS signal”. By pressing it just once, a person can call the rescue service and notify relatives and acquaintances by SMS that they have been caught in an emergency and about the emergency incident that has occurred. This is possible if, after downloading the app, the user enters the phone numbers of close people into the emergency contacts, to whom the message will be sent automatically when the button is pressed.
“To send an SOS signal, the button must be pressed and held for eight seconds - this is done to prevent accidental presses by children and to reduce the number of false calls,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted.
When the “SOS” button is pressed, the app automatically determines the person’s location, identifies the mobile operator by phone number, and calls the rescue service number. Automatic selection of the rescue service number is available only to registered and authorized users.
Also, the new program contains reference guides that demonstrate first aid methods and rules of conduct in various emergency situations. One of the guides will help find the nearest emergency response service - a fire station, search and rescue unit, police department, and medical facility, taking into account the person’s location.
