Citizens ideas for improving recreation areas will be considered by the end of August

In Irkutsk, ecology officials are developing recreation area improvement projects and until the end of August are waiting for residents ideas on arranging public leisure areas. One possible site is Sinyushina Hill, where a concept has already been proposed with an eco trail, visitor center, viewing platforms, childrens areas and picnic spots. The mayor office says the more practical and cheaper the project, the greater the chance it will be included in the financial plan and carried out.

Specialists from the environmental management department are currently developing improvement projects for recreational areas within the city limits. Until the end of summer, Irkutsk residents can share their plans and projects on how best to develop places for mass recreation for city residents.
It should be noted that one such site could be the territory of Sinyushina Gora. A development concept for this area has already been drawn up.
It is planned to create a compositional axis running from Marshal Konev Street with exits to the cliff overlooking the Irkut River valley and to a fragment of Devil’s Lake in the marshy area.
An ecological trail will connect three compositional nodes: a visitor center, an observation deck overlooking the Irkut River valley, and a viewing platform on the fragment of Devil’s Lake.
According to the developers’ project, this architectural solution will divide the Sinyushka area into two almost equal parts.
For comfortable recreation, gazebos, benches, and toilets are provided along the ecological trail.
Also, various areas with playgrounds, bridges, viewing platforms, and picnic zones will be located at this site.
According to the city administration, this project has already been prepared for review. It is planned to at least systematically include it in the financial plan for 2016.
In difficult economic conditions, it is necessary to determine which recreation areas need to be improved first.
Therefore, the Irkutsk city administration is asking Irkutsk residents to send their proposals for the development of recreational areas to: ecologiya@admirk.ru.
These can be either ready-made projects or simply suggestions about which mass recreation areas can be developed and how.
It should be noted that the cheaper and more practical the project is, the greater the likelihood of its implementation. Proposals are accepted until the end of August.
