In the region, school uniforms have risen sharply in price, a polyester suit costs 2800 to 3500 rubles, and a model made of fabric recommended by sanitary standards costs about 4760 rubles. Acting Education Minister Elena Osipova said the ministry is working with local manufacturers so the uniform meets hygiene requirements and is more affordable. Low income families also get support, 1000 rubles for a school uniform set once every two years.

The cost of one school suit made of polyester ranges from 2,800 to 3,500 rubles. The average cost of a suit made of fabric recommended by sanitary norms and rules is about 4,760 rubles.
This was reported on August 5, 2015, by the acting Minister of Education of the region, Elena Osipova. According to her, on average the cost of school suits has risen by 500-800 rubles.
“A polyester suit is quite comfortable to wear. It does not wrinkle, is durable, and is easy to wash,” Elena Osipova noted. “But hygiene requirements say that it is undesirable for a child to stay in school clothing made of such fabric for a long time.” She added that the Ministry of Education is working with local manufacturers of school suits so that the uniforms meet hygiene requirements, as well as the price-quality ratio.
“Most of our companies have bonus programs to support schoolchildren from low-income families,” the acting minister added. “In addition, the regional budget provides financial assistance to low-income families for the purchase of a set of school uniforms — 1,000 rubles once every two years. Of course, this cannot fully compensate for the purchase of a set, but such a support measure does exist.”
