The lakes perimeter is about 2000 kilometers, and for the athlete this is not just a test of endurance, but a way to prove that human potential is limitless. Oleg hopes his example will inspire others to take up sports and set new goals for themselves.

Young Irkutsk resident Oleg Gavrikov decided to organize a solo run around Lake Baikal.
The start is scheduled for August 14 from Sukhoy Ruchey.
The perimeter of Lake Baikal is 2,000 kilometers. The 18-year-old Irkutsk resident plans to stay overnight at tourist recreation bases that he will encounter along the way.
As Oleg Gavrikov said, I started taking running seriously about three years ago, and I have already taken part in two intercity runs — from Shelekhov to Krasnoyarsk and from Ulan-Ude to Mongolia, and I have also run several marathons. The goal of my run is to test myself and prove that human capabilities are limitless. I also hope that someone will follow my example and take up sports in order to conquer new heights in their life.
