In the Irkutsk region, printing of ballots for the early gubernatorial election has begun. The print shop will produce nearly 1.9 million copies, including ballots for KOIB. The election commission stresses the high security of the documents, with microprint and a special grid that are nearly impossible to forge. Printing is underway on a modern machine and should finish in five to six days, and the election itself will be held on September 13.

Printing of ballots for the early election of the Governor of the Irkutsk Region has begun. In total, the printing house "Reprotsentr A1" will print 1,906,210 ballots, of which 205,200 are for voting using KOIB. The start of printing was given by the chairman of the Regional Election Commission, Eduard Devitsky, on August 10.
As Eduard Devitsky noted, the ballots have a certain degree of protection, so it is practically impossible to counterfeit them.
"The ballots must be printed no later than 22 days before election day — September 13. According to the law, we can produce the same number of ballots and no more than 1.5% extra. Right now, that figure is 1,906,610. It will be extremely difficult to counterfeit a ballot. We also use microtype. By holding up a magnifying glass, any voter will see the inscription 'Early Election of the Governor' in certain places. We also use a special security grid; it is applied at the printing house, and it is practically impossible to counterfeit," said the chairman of the Election Commission of the Irkutsk Region.
He also added that on August 7 the Regional Election Commission approved a resolution on the text of the ballots. In addition to the instructions for filling them out, the ballots include the names of the registered candidates. They are listed in alphabetical order. Opposite each candidate is information about them: date and place of birth, place of work and residence, and which electoral association nominated them.
According to the director of the printing house "Reprotsentr A1," Sergei Makarov, the ballots are printed on a modern machine. The technologies are based on the use of ultraviolet highly reactive inks with low power consumption.
"Thanks to the use of these inks, a higher-quality image is obtained. The impression comes out of the machine completely dry. It is already ready for further processing," Sergei Makarov emphasized.
The machine's productivity is quite high. The printing house will print at a speed of 12,000 sheets per hour. Producing nearly 2 million ballots will require about 9 tons of paper and 30-40 kg of ink. Printing is scheduled to be completed in five to six days.
As a reminder, the early election of the region's governor will take place on September 13. Four candidates from the main parliamentary parties have been registered to take part — acting governor of the Angara Region Sergei Eroshchenko ("United Russia"), deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Angara Region Oleg Kuznetsov (LDPR), State Duma deputy Sergei Levchenko (KPRF), and secretary of the IRO "A Just Russia" Larisa Egorova.
