A traffic accident involving a female driver occurred today in Irkutsk at the intersection of Karl Marx and Lenin streets around 1:30 p.m.- The driver of a Mitsubishi Colt was turning onto Lenin Street and hit two pedestrians, - the Irkutsk City Traffic Police said. - An investigation into the traffic accident is now underway. It remains to be determined who was moving on a green traffic light and who was on a red one.
According to the motorist herself, she was driving on green, but while turning she did not notice the people on the road. It has been recorded that the injured elderly women sustained injuries. They were taken to the hospital by ambulance. One has bruises, the other was hospitalized with a suspected leg fracture.

— It’s always like this here — the crosswalk is short, the intersection is large. Cars are racing, they don’t care, they don’t let anyone through. They keep hitting pedestrians. Last year a girl was killed here.
