On August 16, in the morning, a Honda Civic was damaged by a fire on Podaptechnaya Street in Irkutsk. The cause of the incident is not yet known. The fire damaged the vehicle’s engine compartment. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Irkutsk Region.The report to the duty desk came in at 05:04. Four minutes later, firefighters were at the scene.
- At the time the first unit arrived, the engine compartment was burning. As a result of the fire, the compartment was damaged over an area of one square meter, - the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
According to preliminary data, the cause of the fire was a short circuit in the electrical wiring. There were no fatalities or injuries.
As a reminder, since the beginning of 2015, about 50 vehicles have burned in Irkutsk. Among them were fires in which the flames destroyed several cars at once. Most often, cars caught fire due to violations in the operation of motor vehicles. Another common cause is arson.
