Investigators and police officers discovered an underground casino in the center of Irkutsk

In Irkutsk, an illegal casino was found in the Manezh shopping center. Investigators and police seized over 60 slot machines, accounting records, and money from illegal activity. About 30 visitors were in the hall during the search, and the investigation into organizing gambling on a very large scale continues. The Investigative Committee also reminds about the hotline for reporting operating gambling venues anonymously and confidentially.

Investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region continue raids to identify illegal gambling activity. The Third Department for Investigating Especially Important Cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Irkutsk Region is handling a criminal case initiated on the grounds of an offense under paragraph “a” of part 2 of Article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, concerning the organization and conduct of gambling using equipment outside a gaming zone, associated with the extraction of income on an especially large scale.
On August 13 of this year, during the investigation of this criminal case, investigators of the Investigative Committee together with officers of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Irkutsk Region conducted a search in the Manezh shopping center, located at: Irkutsk, Litvinova St., building 20, structure 1. At this address, an illegal casino was identified, where more than 60 slot machines, accounting documents, and cash received as income from illegal gambling activity were found and seized.
At the time of the search, about 30 visitors were in the gaming hall. Investigative actions are currently being carried out aimed at establishing the circumstances of the crime committed. The criminal investigation continues.
