At Baikal Arena, extra stands for 2,500 spectators will be installed for the Davis Cup match and new special flooring laid. ITF representative and chief referee Andrey Kornilov said the arena meets requirements and is ready for technical adaptation. Hawk-Eye will also be used.

Additional stands for 2,500 spectators will be installed at the Baikal-Arena sports complex for spectators of the international tennis tournament Davis Cup. On August 25, the press service of the Government of the Irkutsk Region, citing the acting minister for physical culture, sports, and youth policy of the Irkutsk Region, reported that new special flooring will be laid in the indoor athletics arena for the match.
During the meeting between Pavel Rostovtsev and a representative of the International Tennis Federation and the chief referee of the match, Andrey Kornilov, the Baikal-Arena sports facility was inspected. According to the chief referee, the facility meets the necessary requirements. Andrey Kornilov also emphasized that the match will be held with the Hawk-Eye hardware and software system, which simulates the trajectory of the game projectile. Thanks to it, an accurate record of the tennis ball’s path is created, which makes the referees’ work easier.
As the representative of the International Tennis Federation said, everything necessary for holding the match is available here, including the required number of rooms for both players and staff. All that remains is to technically adapt the facility for the event. My prediction is that the match will take place in excellent conditions, and that is the most important thing. If the players are comfortable, then everyone will enjoy the game.
