The area of fires in the Irkutsk Region has increased again — by almost a thousand hectares. Eight fires are still active on the territory of the nature reserve. The situation remains severe in the Kachugsky and Olkhonsky districts. In addition, the Bayandaevsky and Zhigalovsky districts are burning.
Over the past 24 hours, firefighters extinguished five fires over an area of 494 hectares. However, this had almost no effect on the overall picture: the fires extinguished were mainly in the north of the Angara region, one large one in the Zhigalovsky district, and a very small one in the Tulunsky district.
The situation in Buryatia is much more complicated. The operational headquarters is monitoring 52 active fires over a total area of more than 136 thousand hectares and 12 localized ones over a total area of about 6.7 thousand hectares. Fires have been recorded in the Barguzinsky, Bauntovsky, Zaigrayevsky, Kabansky, Pribaikalsky, Khorinsky, Ivolginsky, Kurumkansky, Severo-Baikalsky districts, in the Zabaikalsky National Park, and in the Barguzinsky, Baikalsky, and Dzherginsky nature reserves.
