On the lakeshore near Bolshoye Goloustnoye village, volunteers collected about 800 cubic meters of trash as part of an environmental campaign for Baikal Day. The cleanup covered a six kilometer stretch, and the waste was sorted by type and sent for recycling. Organizers note that there is less trash here than a year ago, when it barely filled one KAMAZ truck.

On the shore of the lake near the village of Bolshoye Goloustnoye, as part of an environmental campaign, volunteers collected about 800 cubic meters of trash. The cleanup was dedicated to Baikal Day.
Trash was removed along a six-kilometer stretch from the St. Nicholas Church to the Semenovka ravine. The event coordinators prepared three types of bags for the campaign — for plastic, glass, and other waste.
Bags of different colors were loaded into special transport belonging to LLC “Eco-Pressing,” which specializes in plastic recycling. According to the coordinators, this was the first time the recycling company had shown interest in a public environmental campaign.
The head of the Goloustnenskoye municipal district, Tatyana Lipskaya, noted that there is less trash now. Environmentalists fully agree with this, since a year ago they collected so much trash in this area that it barely fit into a KAMAZ truck, reports the press service of the Irkutsk regional branch of the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation.
