The world championship will be held in Finland, in the city of Lappeenranta, from October 21 to 25 this year. This is reported in a press release from the Ministry of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy of the Irkutsk Region.
Qualifying stages have already been held in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kemerovo, and Rostov. The discipline the athletes will play is "dynamic pyramid".
As Vladimir Vereshnya, Vice President of the Irkutsk Region Billiards Federation, said, this is a unique opportunity to make it to the World Championship and test one's strength. After all, it is very difficult to break into, for example, the Russian national team. The competition is very strong. Anyone who wishes can take part in the qualifying tournament; there are no restrictions on skill level or citizenship. There are very good players from Kyrgyzstan in Irkutsk, and we also plan to invite Mongolian athletes.
