Today early in the morning, a brazen bank robbery took place. Two unknown men broke into an ATM at a financial institution at the intersection of Trilissera and Partizanskaya streets. However, security personnel arrived at the scene. One robber was mortally wounded, and the other managed to escape.
The perpetrators entered the bank office at 5:30 a.m. The alarm went off, and a private security patrol promptly arrived at the scene.
Employees of the security company spotted two fleeing masked men, and a chase began.
During the pursuit, one of the suspected robbers fired several shots from a pistol in the direction of the security guard.
In response, the private security employee fired a warning shot, after which he used his service weapon, wounding the suspect.
A couple of minutes later, officers of the non-departmental security unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Irkutsk also joined the search for the two raiders.
One of the criminals was then found, having suffered a serious wound. Despite the efforts of medical workers, the man died.
At present, the search continues for his accomplice, who nevertheless managed to escape. This was reported by the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
An investigation is underway into this incident. The question of opening a criminal case is being decided.
As a reminder, on August 7 in the Novo-Lenino microdistrict on Rosa Luxemburg Street, armed raiders robbed a branch of the Asia-Pacific Bank. Two men armed with a knife and a pistol burst into the bank branch and, under threat of weapons, took all the cash available from the cashier.
