The Russian national team lineup for the Davis Cup match has been announced

The Russian Tennis Federation announced the team for the Davis Cup World Group playoff against Italy in Irkutsk, Teimuraz Gabashvili, Evgeny Donskoy, Andrey Rublev and Konstantin Kravchuk. The match will be held September 18 to 20 at Baikal Arena.

As reported by the Russian Tennis Federation, the names of the Russian athletes who will take part in the Davis Cup World Group playoffs have been announced. They are the country’s strongest tennis players — Teimuraz Gabashvili, Evgeny Donskoy, Andrey Rublev, and Konstantin Kravchuk.
Andrey Rublev noted that the Italian team is a tough opponent. But that is what makes sport interesting — you need to compete with the strongest. The tennis players will gladly travel to Irkutsk and hope that the courts of the Baikal Arena will bring them good luck.
Great hopes are pinned on 17-year-old talented athlete Andrey Rublev. Despite his young age and his 198th place in the ATP rankings, Andrey has already demonstrated skill, composure, and confidence in his abilities. It was he who brought Russia the decisive point in the recent showdown with the Spaniards in Vladivostok.
The most experienced and highest-ranked tennis player on our team is Teimuraz Gabashvili; he is ranked 53rd in the world, Evgeny Donskoy is 139th, and Konstantin Kravchuk is 155th.
Our athletes will arrive in Irkutsk on September 11, and the Italian tennis players a few days later.
As a reminder, in Irkutsk from September 18 to 20, 2015, the Davis Cup match between the tennis teams of Russia and Italy will take place at the Baikal Arena sports complex.
For the sporting event, additional spectator stands for 2,500 seats are being installed at the Baikal Arena sports complex.

Of course, the Russian athletes have every chance of victory, but so do our opponents. And the residents of Irkutsk and the city’s guests have a wonderful opportunity to see the intensity of this showdown live. Let’s wish our team good luck!
