In Irkutsk, the eighth charity auction Nota Do raised 6.7 million rubles to help gifted children in the region. The evening, marking the 10th anniversary of Stars on Baikal, featured rare lots, including exclusive wine from Gerard Depardieu and the Golden Bullet pendant, sold for over a million rubles. In eight years, donations have topped 50 million rubles, and 570 talented children have received support.

In Irkutsk, the eighth “Do Note” auction of the Yuri Ten Charitable Foundation was held. Nearly seven million rubles were raised to help gifted children in the region.
The charity evening was dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the International Festival “Stars on Baikal.”
In 2015, the coordinators decided to follow in the footsteps of the most famous heroes of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle — Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson.
Traditionally, a dark lot and a special surprise lot were auctioned: actor Gérard Depardieu provided an exclusive wine and a cookbook with his autograph for the auction.
The event is held jointly with the Ministry of Culture of the Irkutsk Region and the magazine “In Good Taste.” It takes place as part of the “Stars on Baikal” music festival and under the patronage of People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Denis Matsuev. Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Nikolai Lekarev was a guest at the event.
As a result, six million seven hundred thousand rubles were raised at the charity evening. The most expensive lot was the “Golden Bullet” pendant; the piece of jewelry was bought for more than one million rubles.
The chairman of the board of trustees of the charitable foundation, Sergei Ten, noted that despite the difficult financial situation of many companies, the Foundation’s longtime friends not only came to the charity evening, but also managed to raise a rather impressive sum.
“We are grateful to our friends; for many years Irkutsk benefactors have supported us. Even in times that are quite difficult for business, they donated almost seven million to help the talented children of the Angara region. Over the years of the auction, 570 talented children have received concert musical instruments and computers as gifts, and have been able to take part in plein airs and International Music Festivals. We constantly follow their successes; just recently we received news from Alyona Ivanova, who studies at the Central Music School at the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory. In November, Alyona will go to the first international competition of her life. Every year we try in every possible way to help talented children; we are very glad not only to hear that the children have achieved success and found their place in life, but also to realize that this great cause includes a part of our efforts,” says Sergei Ten.
People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev said that over the many years the “Do Note” charity auction has become an integral companion of the “Stars on Baikal” festival.
“The ‘Do Note’ evening is absolute know-how; I have been to many world festivals, and there is nothing like it anywhere else. I know from experience that buying quality instruments for children is truly important. I started playing on a ‘Tyumen’ piano, and when I sat down at a good grand piano in the Irkutsk Philharmonic, I was simply amazed — the music sounded completely different. That is why it is so important for children to start playing good instruments in childhood. I am proud that in Irkutsk the word benefactor is not only alive; all these people really help talented children, and for that I want to say a special thank you to them,” Denis Matsuev emphasized.
In September of last year, the “Do Note” auction raised a record amount — 13 million rubles to help talented children of the Irkutsk Region. Over eight years of the auction’s work, the total amount of donations has exceeded 50 million rubles.
