As of 5:00 p.m. on Monday, heating had been turned on in 67.2% of the city’s residential housing stock: 80.8% in the Pravoberezhny District, 83.4% in the Leninsky District, 32.7% in the Oktyabrsky District, and 72.2% in the Sverdlovsky District. Connection is currently ongoing.The city administration reports that residential buildings are connected by resource-supplying organizations upon requests from management companies. The decision to turn on heat in each apartment building is made by the management organization together with the residents.
Deputy Mayor and Chairman of the Committee for Urban Development of the Irkutsk City Administration Bulat Dugurov said: « The city is now 100% ready for winter. Management companies are supplying heat to homes in accordance with a schedule agreed upon with residents. In previous years, we have not received complaints about such a system. However, we are ready to work with each specific case - this concerns both the temperature regime in the building and the timing of heat supply. The city administration will strictly monitor all these issues».
