At the House of Crafts branch of the Irkutsk History Museum, the Symphony of the Soul exhibition opened by the Babr artists group, which turns 30 in 2015. The exhibit shows the groups traditions, valuing creative exchange, joint study and plein airs, and the artists follow the Wanderers principles. The exhibition runs until December 1, with workshops for all.

On September 28, the exhibition “Symphony of the Soul” by the artists’ creative association “Babr” opened at the “House of Crafts” branch (16 b Frank-Kamenetsky St.) of the A.M. Sibiryakov Museum of the History of Irkutsk.
In 2015, the association celebrates its anniversary, marking 30 years. The “Babr” association was created as a place where creative people could meet and communicate. From the very beginning, the members of the association were distinguished by mobility, a thirst for knowledge, and a desire to communicate in any format: exhibition activities, practical classes under the guidance of professional artists (N. Timakov, V. Bychkov, I. Brovkin, A. Kostovsky, N. Bychkova), sketch outings, visits to museums, or simply creative meetings with discussions of paintings. These traditions, a kind of learning from one another, have produced and continue to produce good results, stimulating growth in the development of the artists’ skills.
For so many years, the Babr members have firmly stood by the positions of the Itinerant artists, considering the great landscape painters Savrasov, Levitan, Shishkin, and Polenov to be their teachers, which is why their works are understandable and beloved by the people. The creative group “Arttrio,” led by Alexander Rogachevsky, came to congratulate them on the anniversary and the opening of the exhibition. The trio performed songs from the flooded villages of the Bratsk District (Keul settlement).
The exhibition will run until December 1, and the artists will hold master classes for everyone interested. For information, call: 201-610.
