From October 5 to 9, Irkutsk will host a nationwide civil defense command exercise. On Monday from 10.00 the centralized alert system will be tested, so sirens may sound. Residents and visitors are asked to stay calm.
The All-Russian civil defense command-staff exercise will take place in Irkutsk from October 5 to 9. On Monday, starting at 10:00 a.m. local time, the city’s centralized alert system will be tested. During the exercise, electric sirens may be activated. In this regard, residents and visitors of Irkutsk are asked not to worry and to remain calm.During the test, issues of alerting and assembling the city’s leadership will be reviewed, as well as the readiness of a number of civil defense facilities and the readiness of civil defense forces to act. Tactical special exercises and drills at the city’s economic facilities are also planned.
Recall that in the regional center, temporary accommodation points will be set up in schools for the duration of the exercise. A mobile command post for the head of civil defense will be deployed in Irkutsk. Also in the regional center, there will be a distribution point for personal protective equipment, radiation monitoring laboratories, a food distribution point, clothing decontamination stations, equipment decontamination stations, and so on.
