On October 11, alcohol sales will be temporarily banned in central Irkutsk because of the nationwide Cross of Nations run. The restriction will apply from 11:00 to 17:00 in stores on the route and within 100 meters.
Alcoholic beverages will not be sold in the center of Irkutsk on October 11. As reported by the city administration press service, the ban on sales will be in effect from 11:00 to 17:00 in connection with the nationwide running day “Cross of Nations.”Alcohol will be prohibited at retail outlets located at the event venues, as well as within a 100-meter radius of them. Thus, alcoholic beverages will not be available for purchase in stores located on Gagarin Boulevard, on the section of Chkalov Street from Gagarin Boulevard to 5th Army Street, on 5th Army Street from Chkalov Street to Karl Marx Street, and on Karl Marx Street from Lenin Street to Gagarin Boulevard.
Police officers will monitor stores’ compliance with the ban on alcohol sales.
