For the third time, a charity marathon called “Youth 3D” — Youth Does Good for Children — will be held in Irkutsk. The event will take place from October 19 to December 28. Everyone is welcome to take part. The marathon will kick off on October 19 with the opening of the 5th Charity Week. The event starts at 14:00 at 14 Marata St., assembly hall.
“The goal of the project is to organize regular assistance for orphaned children and children who have found themselves in difficult life situations. To do this, it is necessary to unite public organizations and volunteers around this good cause, coordinate their work, and make it not chaotic or random, but systematic,” said Olga Kurilenkova, head of the public relations department of the Irkutsk city administration.
In 2014, 17 organizations took part in the charity event, including volunteer centers, educational institutions and non-profit organizations, the Baikal-Energy hockey club, and others.
The final event of last year’s “Youth 3D” was a charity evening held in February 2015. It featured a fair-sale of crafts made by children from social care institutions.
According to the administration’s press service, the craft fair raised about 200,000 rubles. These funds were used to equip a ward for abandoned children at the Ivano-Matreninskaya Hospital.
