Dmitry Berdnikovs team has been strengthened by several former employees of the Irkutsk region government. Vitaly Baryshnikov, Ruslan Kim and Irina Lenshina joined the Irkutsk city hall, and Igor Naumkin is also expected to be appointed. Observers link these changes to staff moving from city hall to the new regional government and do not rule out more appointments soon.

On October 16, it became known that Dmitry Berdnikov’s team had been joined by several employees from the previous composition of the government of the Irkutsk Region.
Former Minister of Culture and Archives of the Irkutsk Region Vitaly Baryshnikov will handle cultural issues in Irkutsk, Ruslan Kim – former Minister of Economic Development – the Department of Strategic Development, and Irina Lenshina – former deputy head of the governor’s office – became an assistant to the mayor of Irkutsk. It is planned that former head of the governor’s and regional government press service Igor Naumkin will join the city administration.
Observers note that the mentioned appointments are a response to the departure into the new government composition of specialists from the mayor’s office: Valentina Peregudova, former head of the education committee of the Irkutsk city administration, became the region’s Minister of Education, and former mayor of Irkutsk Viktor Kondrashov – deputy chairman of the government. Observers also note with a high degree of probability possible appointments in the near future of Alexey Almukhamedov and Anton Logashov – people from Viktor Kondrashov’s team – to the government.
