In Irkutsk, from December 3 to 10, the “Passport in 1 Day” campaign is taking place. It is organized by the Federal Migration Service Directorate of Russia for the Irkutsk Region and is intended for those who, for one reason or another, did not replace their main identity document in time.
This applies both to passports of the old Soviet format and to those that are invalid because of the holder’s age or due to a change of surname.
Usually, this procedure takes about a week and costs a fine of 1,500 to 3,000 rubles. During these same days, fines will not be collected.
It is planned to issue about 7,000 new passports (on average, 4,000 documents are issued during this period).
Your expired passport will be replaced if you apply to the UFMS office at your place of residence. The offices will operate as usual, including on weekends.
Migration service specialists will prepare the new document in just 1 day.
