In a house on the Irkut riverbank, officers uncovered a drug network allegedly organized by the 18 year old son of the owner and his accomplices. During the search, heroin, syringes, tropicamide, scales and even ammunition were seized, and the daily drug turnover was estimated at 130 to 150 doses. All suspects are now detained, the investigation continues, and trial awaits them.
The house on the bank of the Irkut had long been “famous” among a certain circle of people. The neighbors on Veselaya Street regularly complained about its “merry” inhabitants. The 18-year-old son of the homeowner, a long-time drug addict, not only used heroin but also sold it. During the operational investigation, two of his “colleagues” were identified — distributors — and a supplier, a Romani woman who had arrived from Chita six months earlier. Other contacts were also identified, and facts of sales were documented. At the appointed time, all the individuals involved in this case were detained.
The suspect’s mother said that she buys 30 doses a day for her son, and if anything is left over, she treats his “fellow sufferers.” Detectives refuted this statement — by their estimates, the daily turnover amounted to approximately 130–150 single doses of the drug. This version was also confirmed by neighbors. As one of them said, on weekends there was literally a line of customers at the drug dealers’, and at night suspicious individuals with flashlights regularly searched for something in various places within a 40-meter radius of the house.
During the search of the house, in addition to heroin, a large number of syringes, about ten packs of Tropicamide (eye drops used by intravenous drug users to enhance the effect), measuring scales, as well as about forty rounds of ammunition, including 24 7.62-caliber cartridges, were found. According to the detainee, he turned in the shotgun to the police, and sold the Vepr carbine to one of his acquaintances.
Heroin batches were also seized from the other members of the criminal group. A test batch for new clients — 60 packets — was seized from the supplier upon arrest. Investigative actions are currently ongoing. The entire group faces trial and severe punishment.
