The military enlistment office in Irkutsk will move to the former IVVAIU site, where they plan to place a cadet corps for students in grades 5 to 11. Governor Sergei Levchenko said the current building is in poor condition, and the new complex should serve a social role and take up to 400 cadets. Earlier it was also reported that a cadet corps for a thousand students was planned for this site.

The military commissariat will change its location. It will “make room” for the educational institution on the territory of the former IVVAIU, where a cadet corps for schoolchildren in grades 5-11 will also be opened. At a seminar of chairmen of city, district, okrug, and industry Veterans’ Councils, Governor Sergei Levchenko said that the building where the military commissariat is currently located is in poor condition.
“The territory is large. With the projects that are being developed today, the entire complex, of course, will not be used yet. Although handing it over to businessmen is not entirely right either. It needs to be made so that it serves a social purpose. A fundamental decision has been made to set up a cadet corps for 400 boys there. On Friday I met in Moscow with the management of Rostec, which has taken on this responsibility. We agreed with them that we would try to bring the cadet corps to completion. The military commissariat will also get a place there,” the governor noted.

As a reminder, the school was founded on May 1, 1931. Sixty thousand aviation specialists were trained there. In 2009, the educational institution ceased to exist. In April of this year, the Russian Ministry of Defense signed an order for the gratuitous transfer of the facilities on the territory of the former school to the ownership of the Irkutsk Region. The regional government announced plans to create a cadet corps for one thousand students on the school grounds.
